The baseball cap is the new beanie
Hello bad hair days! Here comes the Nordhorn cap in a freebook version, because this casual accessory is back in fashion, but that's not all - it's also a great sewing project for using up fabric scraps.

What do you need?
- Sewing thread in matching color
- scissors
- pins
- Sewing machine
- Medium-weight fabrics with a bit of stand - jeans, canvas, corduroy, twill, but also beautiful wool fabrics, teddy plush, boucle and even quilted fabrics.
Sewing instructions for the Nordhorn Cap

The pattern already includes a seam allowance.
Cut to size:
Outer fabric:
- A Cap front
- 1xB Cap side
- 2xC Cap back
- 2xD Cap peak 2 x
Lining fabric:
- A Cap front 1x
- B Cap side part 2x
- C Cap back 2x
Sewing:
- Fold the front piece of hat A in half, right sides together, and sew the dart at a tapered angle. Press the seam open.
- Pin and sew the side pieces B to the front piece A, right sides facing. Press the seams open.
- Pin and sew the back pieces C right sides together. Press the seam open.
- Pin the two halves right sides together and sew. Press the seam open.
Shield:
- Pin right sides together and sew along the interlining (this works wonderfully with the zipper foot). Cut in the seam. Turn the shield right side out and iron.
- Topstitch the shield twice at the rounding at the front.
- Sew along the interlining with the zipper foot.
Sew shield to cap:
- Pin the label to the front piece A, right sides together, and sew close to the interlining.
