Musilin Blouse

 A casual raglan blouse that is easy to sew and uncomplicated to style. The elasticated sleeve hem and ruffled neckline give the blouse a boho touch.

Sewing:

  • 1 front piece 1 x fabric fold
  • 2 Back section in fabric fold
  • 3 sleeves 2 x
  • 4 collars 2 x in fabric fold
  • A Front slit trim
  • Iron the interlining onto the slash facing A and part of the collar.
  • collar. Pin the collar pieces right sides together, topstitch along the top edge and the curves along the front edges, ending 1 cm before the bottom edge.
  • Trim back seam allowances, cut in at curves, turn collar right side out, iron.
  • Neaten the slit facing A.
  • Stretch the slit facing onto the front piece, right sides facing. The slit markings (line in the middle) are on top of each other. Topstitch narrowly around the slit marking. Cut between the stitching lines. Turn the facing inside out, press the slit edges and topstitch from the right side.
  • Place the front piece right sides together on the back piece. Sew the side seams, neaten and press.
  • Fold the sleeves in half lengthwise with the right side of the fabric on the inside. Sew the sleeve seams, neaten and press.
  • Pin the sleeves to the front and back, right sides facing. Sleeve/front piece markings meet. Sleeve seams meet the side seams.
  • Sew in the sleeves. Finish the seam allowances and press.
  • Neaten the sleeve hem allowance, press inwards, topstitch, leave an opening for the elastic band. Tuck in the elastic.
  • Sew a ruffled seam within the seam allowance with a longer stitch length and low thread tension.
  • Gather the neckline until it is as wide as the collar.
  • Distribute the gathers evenly, making sure that the markings on the collar match the markings on the sleeves.

Collar:

  • Pin and sew the collar piece with interlining to the neckline, right sides facing.
  • Place the seam allowance of the collar without interfacing into the collar. Pin and sew carefully to the neckline.
